These terms and conditions override any contrary terms or conditions published by us in relation to any membership subscription between you and us.
Definitions and interpretations
The following terms have the references set out below:
1.1 “We” and “our” and “us” refers to the Sri Lankan Medical & Dental Association in the UK. (SLMDA)
1.2 “You” and “your” means and refers to the applicant or member.
1.3 “Membership Period” means a period of twelve calendar months (or other period where expressly agreed by the Sri Lankan Medical & Dental Association in the UK)
1.4 “Website” refers to the official website of SLMDA; https://www.srilankan-mda.org.uk/
Membership Benefits
2.1 We reserve the right to change the benefits that apply to SLMDA membership at any time and without prior notice.
2.2 As a member, you will receive priority access to tickets for all SLMDA events.
2.3 Members may be eligible for discounts to events, as determined by the organization.
2.4 Free career guidance, advice and help from senior membership.
2.5 Members have exclusive access to certain restricted content on the website.
2.6 Only Members are eligible for appointment to offices and committees of SLMDA.
Membership Fee
3.1 The annual membership fee for the SLMDA is £40. The fee will be charged on a recurring basis for the membership period.
3.2 Fee Changes
SLMDA reserves the right to change the membership fee at any time. If the fee changes, you will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance of the change. You may cancel your membership if you do not agree to the new fee.
3.3 Termination of Membership
You may terminate your membership at any time by emailing [email protected] Your membership will terminate at the end of the current billing period.
3.4 Refunds
No refunds will be given for terminated memberships.
Data protection
4.1 We may collect certain data about you, such as;
- Your name, date of birth, email address, and contact information.
- Your professional data such as your job title, place of work and registration details of your professional.
- Your gender
- If you are a student, your educational details.
4.2 We may also use your data to send you email updates about our activities and events. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
4.3 We will never sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We will only share your data with third parties if we are required to do so by law, or only if we have your consent.

Additional information
5.1 SLMDA may update these terms and conditions at any time. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance of the change. You may terminate your membership if you do not agree to the changes.
5.2 These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
