Locked In
Locked in I ponder
Of fleeting musings
Of the uncertainty
Of life and living!
Of data sets and models
Of probability and predictability
Updates and communiques
Of regimes
Authoritarian and authoritative
In whose judgement
Do I place my trust?
Devoid of my agency
Locked out
I ponder!
In our quest for efficiency
Probability and predictability
Did you not factor uncertainty
Of scarce resources
Of human instincts
To quell a tide unbeknown
Lofty and mighty
We did stand
At the pinnacle
Of our race
Plundering
Scarce resources
Invading
People and places
To build havens
Of our own !
Invisible and insidious
In its vile grip
It did expose
Our frailty
Our disunity
Of a life too busy
To stop to tinker
Locked in
It stills my mind
Like muddied water
I let it stand
To be the calm eye
Of this storm
For this too
Shall pass !

Locked Out
Locked out
I stare within
At the calm waters
That some are squandering
Locked out
They send me to the front
The oldest of them standing
Without even a saniwipe
Locked out
May I come inside?
What I would give
To be locked in
But I am locked out.

Spring 2020
It is a spring full of sorrow
But not let your souls follow
Keep your thoughts glitteringly glow
and let’s pray for those in sorrow
It is a spring full of sorrow
Yet daffodils bloom in bright yellow
With snow drops as white as snow
and let’s pray for those in sorrow
It is a spring full of sorrow
But not let your souls follow
Keep your thoughts in bright sunny glow
and let’s pray for those in sorrow
It is a spring full of sorrow
Yet cherry blossoms bloom in full flow
with tulips in crimson glow
and let’s pray for those in sorrow
It is a spring full of sorrow
But not let your souls follow
Keep your thoughts as cheerful as a sparrow
and let’s pray for those in sorrow
