We are delighted to announce the winners of the SLMDA-UK Open Poetry Competition 2025. Published on 3rd May at SLMDA Spring Dinner dance 2026. This competition was organised to celebrate literary creativity while supporting SLMDA-UK’s charitable work towards medical and dental education and healthcare-related projects in Sri Lanka. We sincerely thank all participants who submitted their poems and shared their creativity with us. We received entries in both English and Sinhala language categories. Unfortunately, we did not receive any entries in the Tamil language category this year. To ensure fairness and transparency, all poems were anonymised before judging. They were assessed by two Dr Roshan Perera and Dr Thusara Rodrigo, independent judges using a shared rubric and marking scheme. The poems were cross-judged, and the final winners were selected based on the marks awarded through this process.
